Review – Merlin’s Apprentice

Despite a couple of faces in the cast – particularly Sam Neill as Merlin and Miranda Richardson as the Lady of the Lake – this doesn’t have much to do with the previous miniseries. Indeed, the two plots are incompatible with each other. This time around the legendary wizard returns after a 50-year absence to discover Camelot in dire straits. The plot is not as well-crafted nor the characters as interesting as the first go-around. Still, if you want enough standard sword-and-sorcery to kill two or three hours, this will suffice.
