They must have rushed this into production immediately after the 2016 election, because the evil dictator villain (Malcolm McDowell) has a distinctly Trumpian flavor. As a follow-up to Death Race 2000, this is a far more faithful adaptation than the high-budget video games created by Paul W.S. Anderson.
