Review – Rock n’ Roll High School

This is one of those movies that I really can’t review honestly due to my nostalgia-driven, irrational personal affection for it. But let me give it a try. Yeah, it’s a silly movie. Even as a satire of juvenile delinquent flicks, this is simple-minded fare. Production values are low. Script and acting are terrible in equal measure. And it’s very much a creature of its times; if you weren’t in your teens in the late 70s/early 80s, you may find the whole thing completely unpalatable. All that aside, however, I consider the production tremendous fun. If nothing else, the movie’s worth it for the Ramones alone (and if you don’t like the Ramones, there’s something fundamentally wrong with you). The DVD also includes a handful of bonuses.
